Green Living

We often learned the various factors to global warming, many of which are contributed by human’s damaging acts toward Mother Earth. Some people might or might not be aware of their contributions to this gradual destruction. Environmentalist gave their best to counter environmental issues of this beaten-up world. Nonetheless, those who are apathetic about this matter outnumber these concerned citizens. As global warming sets in, we still can do something for the benefit of our future generations. You needn’t have to be an environmentalist, but merely pay attention to the factors that can affect the environment from time to time.

BRING YOUR OWN BAG

Be it a hasty trip to the grocery store or a leisurely afternoon shopping spree, it is always good practice to bring your own bag. Looking at the fact that a disposable plastic bag takes approximately an entire millennium to be broken down, plastic bags are indeed a huge threat to nature. Presently, plastic trash has mounted up to the size of Texas in North Pacific Ocean. Disposables are even entering the food chain via toxins that are related to everything from obesity, infertility to cancer. Thus, to reduce these risks, it is only sensible to bring your own bag.

GOING GREEN WITH HYBRID CARS

Hybrid cars are one innovative, complex yet environmental friendly creation. They are designed to helps construct a safer and cleaner environment in efforts of preserving Mother Nature. Pollution causes global warming, and one of the main factors to pollution would be the extensive exposure of the environment to vehicular smoke. As the world reckons the necessity of possessing a car, the increase in car purchases directly increases smoke pollution. Hybrid car then, is the answer to preserving nature as it runs on cheaper supplies of collective fuels which in turn reduce the use and reliance on diminishing natural resources.

THE NATURAL FRESH COSY AIR

The quality of indoor air is often dependent on the cleanliness of a home. Ventilation is a process whereby clean, fresh air from the outdoor is let in to replace the stale indoor air of a house. Poor ventilation is the main culprit to poor indoor air quality as a result of accumulation of pollutants, irritants and odor that cannot be drained out from home. This could adversely affect one’s health. Studies showed that those who consistently worked in air conditioned offices which usually have poor ventilation are more vulnerable to colds, flu and other minor sicknesses.

LET'S GO CYCLING

Increased participation in cycling is indeed advantageous for individuals, communities, the economy as well as society. Cycling is an essential life skill that allows children to have an early road sense as they edge toward independence. Apart from offering an easy, thrilling exercise, cycling also helps in developing resilience among young people. Besides improving general health and fitness, cycling is an excellent method to reduce pollution with reduced emission of carbon dioxide. Cycling helps in tackling congestion. All in all, no single activity is able to offer such mounted up benefits such as this. So, let’s go cycling, shall we?

EXPERIENCING MOTHER NATURE

Mother Nature has a calling in nurturing its beauty for the enjoyment of the future generations. The human race is responsible as guardians to preserve these beauties on earth. Nonetheless, the overwhelming ideas of achieving and building a better tomorrow have cost the sacrifice of our nature. Realistically, we need our nature for survival. If we would take some time to experience Mother Nature, appreciating its green and the living things within it, we will begin to realize the essentiality of its existence as well as the reason to why we need to stop tearing down and start preserving.

SOURCE FOR FRESH OXYGEN

We were taught that the existence of trees help regulate our breathing system by killing carbon dioxide and supplying us with fresh oxygen. Yet, humans are strange creatures. We kill the very thing that keeps us alive. Fortunately, technology has allowed us to recycle paper, wood and make synthetics in efforts of reducing the need to cut down trees. Rainforests which used to cover about 14% of earth’s surface has now shrunk to 6%. Experts predicted that these remaining will vanish within 40 years. With that, nearly half the world’s species of wildlife will be annihilated because of deforestation.
